We are a family-owned and operated ranch in SW Pennsylvania focused on the health of consumers, animals, and land.

Cow and Calf

Hereford Beef

Our Hereford Cattle Herd live a life on the (rotational) range. We opt for the Hereford Cattle breed at A&A Ranch for a number of reasons, including appearance, ease of input, calving traits, and mainly - the quality of the beef produced. One of the premier cattle breeds in regards to turning grass into nutrient-dense red meat - our  Hereford Beef is a staple and a great way to keep your mind sound and heart healthy.

Family Owned & Operated

We are a Family-Run Regenerative Ranch

A&A Ranch is a production of August and Allison Mizia. The two met while in college in Erie, PA and moved back to Bentleyville, PA - where August grew up. They married in 2017 and began building a farm and a family simultaneously. They now reside with three children - Morgan, Arlo, and Margo, three dogs, and a plethora of livestock. In addition to their ranching operation, Allison is a Media Director and August is a School Teacher.

Regenerative Agriculture

We strive to consider all factors in our beef production model, all the way down to the dirt the grass grows in. When you consider this - the food you eat consumes the grass that is grown. Therefor - higher quality soil produces higher quality forage that these animals live and feed on, in turn producing higher quality beef that winds up on your dinner table.

This way of thinking is known as Regenerative Agriculture. This ideology promotes not just the use of farmland, but the regeneration of it. Tactics such as mob grazing, efficient animal impact, and multi-species integration help to maximize input into the soil, thus maximizing the soil's output into forage. We like to think we have well-rounded dirt.

Our cattle are the backbone of our ranch and are truly incredible creatures - taking grass and turning it into nutritious beef while creating highly concentrated and effective fertilizer to leave in their wake, all while aerating the soil with their hooves and keeping grasses in their maximum grow stage.

We are constantly considering new ways to become better stewards of our land - so this is an ongoing critique of ourselves and our operation. We strive to work alongside Mother Nature, rather than working despite Mother Nature.
